Let's catalog Marcia's mispronunciations

"Skewl"

"Wur-wolves"

"Banquet Niiiiight"

"TogethA, togethA, togethA!!!" (Family Frolics Night)

She probably inherited her bad speech from Carol, native of Swampscott, Massachusetts.

(What's everyone having for LUUU-NNNCH? ...in the Cincinnatit Kids episode)

reply

Or you could say "lench". ;)

reply

What about Marcia using a faux upper class English accent? Like when she said "Whatever do you mean Gregory?"

reply

Various areas have different dialects. It doesn't make the pronunciations wrong.

reply

The point is the other 5 kids didn't have any weird accents but Marcia did, like she's trying hard to sound special.

Jan gets a free pass because she sounded like she had a cold for 5 years lol.

reply

LOL

reply

Gregory! No!

DON'T! STOP!!

Stop!
Don't!

Oh Greg, Don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop !!!!!!!!

Probably a southern California thing. My cousin's wife was born and raised there and I notice a similarity to other's observations on this thread. The vowel sounds seem to come more from the back of the mouth

"Lench" for Lunch

"Wut wuther" for Wet weather

"Turruffuc" for Terrific

and of course "Skewl"
