Back in the 1600's if you made it to 40 you were old. Getting married at 14 was not uncommon. Times have changed.

As for Olivia, story goes that the director got special permission to film her topless for that scene (not sure who he asked).
Also, as others have noted, they filmed in Italy which had more relaxed laws, I believe, in regard to such things.

Waiting was 10 months older than Olivia and as per lawsuit was 16. Weird though that in the 1968 interview he says he is 17 and Olivia says she's 15. Not possible bec he's not even a year older than her.

Ouch. I think the OP is genuinely asking how they got away with filming the scene, given the actors' ages. Clearly, the OP has no actual problem with the scene. It's not a ridculous question, as most of us are familiar with stringent laws for actors who are minors in present day.

shareThe U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that nudity is not a crime, regardless of age, so seeing a 15 year old breast is no big deal. Only actual sex is outlawed. For other examples watch Holocaust or Schindler's List.... in several scenes we see teen girls completely naked. (Also numerous books on amazon show naked children & teens.)
I think when people say "Oh no a nude scene of underage teen!" they completely forget we have a supreme law which protects freedom of speech & expression. And our court has upheld that law on several cases.
Which trial? I can't find one regarding indecent exposure laws invalid (saying nudity isn't a crime). If you're referring to Barnes v. Glen Theatre, Inc., you have it backwards. In that one, they ruled that nudity isn't protected by the First Amendment.

To address your statement of how she's 16 (which I don't think it's true as I read she was 18), in various countries and American states at the age of 16 males/females have the consent to date or marry an older person so if you have a problem with that.
