LOL, a Gen Z made that graphic, no doubt. Besides seeming to know nothing about anything before their time, I bet you they confused that picture of Anson Mount (?) for Shatner or maybe got a mislabeled picture of him off of search. I can't tell you how many times I've looked for photos of people and they were mislabeled in Bing and Google.

shatner thinks its deliberate (which it obviously is) https://twitter.com/WilliamShatner/status/1633282139868520448
and TNG isnt really represented either as thats Patrick Stewart from 'Star Trek Picard'

ideally it should be Kirk instead of Uhura (sharp intake of breath!) as Kirk & Spock are THE Star Trek characters, have Data instead of Picard (to represent TNG) and move 'ST Picard' PStewart to the end replacing 7of9 (as Voyager is already rep'd with Janeway - or just have 7of9 there as well for the hotness factor)

also replace USS Discovery with the NCC 1701 ffs

It's deliberate because they're trying to represent the newer iterations of Star Trek on streaming on demand, is what you're saying?

Okay, I can see that. But then why include Captain Archer? Is his character in these new iterations or Abrams universe or whatever the hell they're doing now? (I have no idea because some ahole decided it would be a good idea to make ST fans pay out of the ass for a franchise we used to be able to watch for free for decades, and I ain't paying for sheeeit.)

I would like to think that there was some sinister motivation behind this poster but I've seen so much incompetent handling of IPs by junior staff members that I really honestly think that they had no idea who to put on that poster.

deliberate bc Paramount thinks Shatner is toxic male (or something like that )

Shatner references the previous poster/banner where he was just a tiny figure on it lol

Speechless.
There's a lot to unwrap here.
All bad.

I'm glad it doesn't bother him but it's a slight.

He is Star Trek - everything that came after stands on his shoulders.

But hey, that franchise has gone the way of Star Wars, so I can see him not wanting to be associated with it.
