Director Terence Fisher...

...did an amazing job building suspense. There’s a long, slow build up, and you can feel the creeping dread. There are several excellent scenes, including Dracula’s resurrection, the first appearance of the now vampiric Helen, Helen tapping at Diana’s window, and of course Dracula’s attempt to make Diana drink his blood. Terence Fisher loved a prowling camera, and it’s put to good use here. DPoD is a solid film all around, and does its predecessor proud.

Yes, i remember watching this as a young boy and the feeling of absolute dread was palable.
