Worst Episodes
In your opinions, what episodes did you think were the worst ones and why?
share I can't say that I disliked any episodes. There was always something redeemable even among the episodes which weren't my favorites.
"Herman, Master Spy" was funny in the first half with the beach scenes and Lily asking Eddie to find out where he buried his grandfather. I didn't care for the second half when Herman was picked up by a Russian fishing trawler. I know it was the Cold war and TV tried to make the Russians look as silly as possible, but believing that Herman was the missing link between man and fish? Yikes!
Never cared for "Herman, the Tire Kicker". Herman was funny as usual, so gullible. But Frank Gorshin's "Fair Deal Dan" was one of my least favorite guest characters. Never cared for him. He always gave off such a creepy, sleazy vibe. That was probably because of the creepy, sleazy characters he always played! Frank Gorshin was probably a nice guy in real life. I just didn't like the characters he usually played.
I liked Herman, the Tire Kicker. Agree with you about Herman, the Master Spy. I also didn't really care for Mummy Munster or Grandpa Leaves Home. Other than that, I love this show! It's one of my favorites :)
share Mummy Munster wasn't the greatest. Wasn't that the one that took place at Marilyn's school? The character of Marilyn was not supposed to be funny. We were just supposed to feel sorry for her because of her "homely" looks.
But the classic episodes and hilarious episodes outnumber the average ones by far. When Herman gets hit in the head with a bolt of lightening and looks like the handsome Fred Gwynne, that's inspired fun. "I'll never be able to go through life with a face like this." lol
