Little Buddy..

If this has been discussed before, then excuse the post.

I saw an Andy Griffith episode that predates GI by a couple of years, and Alan Hale Jr. played a simple farmer who was after Barney's girl. He referred to Barney at least twice as "little buddy". Seems like Alan Hale Jr. was the originator of the phrase or at least took it with him to GI.

I can see that, I used to call my young nephew Lil Buddy, as inspired by Skipper
So Id say credit to Alan Hale for this
