I Remember You...Sometimes (I Remember Loving this One)

Some of the funniest episodes are the ones where Endora's spell on Darrin causes him to irritate a client. And perpetual "brown nosing" Larry Tate gets frantic at the thought of losing an account.

I always laugh at this one. Darrin goes on and on and tries to outdo his know-it-all client.

The man has never realized what an insufferable bore he's been for years until his wife falls under the same spell (the memory spell was on the wrist watch she was holding). She lists the hundreds of times her husband has told the same stories.

I like it when the client realizes how annoying he's been. "You mean I go on and on and on, like HE does?" (pointing to Darrin)

Sometimes Endora's spells backfire. She tries to point out human flaws and ends up helping some people notice and correct them.

Yes!!! A total gem. Montgomery is so beautiful in this offering. And Dan Tobin, who was also in the equally funny
"Only a Frog Knows How to Live" is one of my very favorite character actors, hilarious in many old movies.

This ep is unique, too, in that this must be the only offering where Sam and Darrin refer to the client and his wife
by their first names, "Ed" and "Cynthia." Kind of refreshing. But, seriously, don't you think Tobin and the actress
who plays his wife were a bit long in the tooth to be parents of a THREE year-old???

Dan Tobin is a favorite character actor of mine too. He had such an expressive face. He's in one of the classic Andy Griffith episodes as "Gentleman Dan Caldwell", a famous con man who spends the night in the Mayberry jail. Andy is not fooled by his charm. But he charms Aunt Bee and Opie. And Barney is totally bowled over by having a "celebrity" in the jail. He convinces Barney to play cards with him in his cell and promptly steals Barney's gun.

He did seem a bit old to have a three year old though. I looked up his age and he was 57 at the time the episode was filmed. But stranger things have happened. One of my best friends in high school, Margie, was the youngest of nine kids! Her mom was the same age as my grandmother. Her oldest brother was older than my dad. The wife in the episode was in her forties and a lot of women have what my mom said they used to call, "a change of life" baby. One last hurrah before the ovaries go out of business!!
