enjoyable

I like this film even though it's not particularly good really and there are many moments that are distinctly non-PC by today's standards. In fact when you consider it was made in the early 60s I wonder if it seemed old-fashioned when released.
But if you accept the film as a product of its time (more or less) then it's good fun. I find Elizabeth Allen very attractive and it's a pity this is the only film I know her from. I like Mike Mazurki and Dorothy Lamour in their roles and Jacqueline Malouf is very dignified as the princess. John Wayne and Lee Marvin do what they do effectively in a good natured roust-about way and it all looks very pretty.
