Is this the GREATEST film ever made?

How many films on the IMDB Top 250 come even close to this Masterpiece? It's sad that the voters aren't cultured enough to rate it up there.

It's in my top 10 for sure.

My favorite Fellini movie. LOVE it.

It`s certainly one helluva time period capturing spectacle, a satirical lark that rarely grew tiresome - even if it ain`t `that` terribly great or awesomely complex as the reputation suggests.

I agree. This is the greatest film of all time. To call it a masterpiece of filmmaking is an understatement.

reply

No, it isn't. There's no greatest movie ever made.

It comes down to an opinion obviously, People will always have their favorites / favorite and to them that is the greatest. But I do agree that above it all that there isn't a definitive "greatest movie"

Although this is an incredible film, I think Amarcord is Fellini's best, so I'd rate it higher than La Dolce Vita.

reply

No , but it is a masterpiece.

Its a remarkable piece of art, not sure any film can ever be the greatest, its entirely subjective but I love La Dolce Vita, it captures to many life experiences in one movie.

Definitely one of the best in its scope, its exploration of the human condition & its world-weary sadness at that condition, its bleak humor, its somber meditation on the superficiality of life that so many people settle for in the end ...
