Monroe Not so Hot In This

Usually I find Marilyn Monroe quite stunning and remembered her as stunning in this movie but last night I watched it for the first times in ages.

I noticed that she didn't come across as that attractive. I don't know what is was, if it was because the movie was in b/w or whatever but am I the only on who didn't find her that hot?

She looked a bit run down and definitely looked much older than 25. In general she seemed out of shape.
I'm not trying to insult her but I was amazed that I got this impression.

If you knew her dress size you might reconsider. She was a real sized woman with very sheer constumes. Then again maybe you only like the teenager or boy frames that Hollywood dishes today.

What do you mean? MM had an hour glass figure and was generally a size 2 overall with a size 0 waist. But she was pregnant while filming this. So she would've smaller than many of the Hollywood women today.

I've never gotten the fascination with her; having said that - Misfits is one of my favs.

She was pregnant during filming...

yeah... it's definitely not what her body usually looked like. I know they say she was a size 12, but I've seen some of her old costumes - a 12 back then was more like a 4 now. She wasn't actually a very big girl normally. She was definitely larger in this. She was still very pretty, but definitely larger than normal.

That makes me feel so fat

reply

God me too.

Pregnant--quite pregnant, by the time shooting was completed-- and hardly "much" older than 25. She was 33 at the time.

reply

Well she was not 25, she was about 33 years old in this movie.

reply

Character 25 Marilyn.33.

I thought she looked amazing. Those dresses were the perfect amount if revealing.

She was a little heavier and bustier than usual because of the pregnancy... and 1920s fashions don't suit curvy busty women!

However her face was as lovely as ever, and her Star Quality hadn't gone anywhere. But no, nothing on Earth could make 1920s fashions look good on the figure she had at the time.
