Why are the message boards on IMDB already closed?

The staff at Internet Movie Database has said that they would disable the messages on February 20, yet the feature is already gone. Amazon is an American company, and here in America it is still February 19.

Yup. I went in there this afternoon, and I was getting lots of error messages, but I managed to make one last post. I went in there again a few minutes ago, and the boards are already gone (7:30 p.m. AZ time, which is 9:30 p.m. east coast time).
