Needs a Game of Thrones style reboot?

I'm surprised Bonanza never got a big budget remake feature film. It's an insanely popular property. I think it would make a pretty great prestige series today. You could totally make a Game of Thrones style Western with the Cartwrights front and center. They're a big family living in the West with their own kingdom, owning all sorts of rights and controlling trades, and everybody's constantly screwing with them. Grim and gritty reboots are pretty dumb by and large, but I think it would really fit here. They have family ties all over the country, and there's tons of secondary characters already created to pull upon. Hell, the show even has goofy supernatural elements already. They keep trying to find a new Game of Thrones. Well here you go!
