Airplane Parody
Just learned how Airplane was a parody of Zero Hour. For 30 years, I always read it was based on Airport films & High & the Mighty. I never knew Zero Hour existed. It looks like a great film.

In my mind, it was the disaster movies of the 70s, the Airport films in particular, that inspired the idea of doing an Airplane type spoof. My best guess is that the Zucker/Abrams team started researching old disaster and airplane movies and discovered this gem to lampoon. I mean, the script of this beauty is tailor made for satirizing.
