Audrey's performance was too similar to Holly Golightly

I've seen her in better roles.

Hepburn did a *lot* of those cutesy-innocent-gamine roles during the 1950s, and IMHO her Holly Golightley was the best such performance. She gave Holly a dark edge and some real emotional depth, which still being just as cute and ultra-charming as she had been in her earlier films.

Hepburn spend the rest of the sixties eschewing the cuteness and making some damn good dramatic films, like "The Nun's Story" and "Two For The Road", and even the thriller "Wait Until Dark". She could do a lot more than be cute, in silly romances with much older men.

She was fantastic in The Children's Hour. Very dramatic role, really heart wrenching film.
