Rhonda Fleming Fights Back

I was glad to see Rhonda Fleming fight back and get away from the lipstick killer. Fleming gives as good as she gets, which makes sense. She's not a petite little thing and she ought to be able to stand up for herself. Also, this character is not exactly a shrinking violet, it seems natural that she would fight back. Good on them for not just having her stand there and scream and wait for the killer to get her, as so many women do in these types of films.

Rewatched the movie last night and yeah, it's cool to see her fend off her attacker.

It's interesting and probably done because her previous behavior was not very good. Viewers were probably expecting her to get punished for that. Thus this is a happy surprise. Good storytelling is often that which goes in directions the viewer does not expect.
