you can count on one hand the number of times she looked at the person she was supposed to be talking to..she sure did love the camera lens..demille was a master of the visual,directing actors,not so much.

He can't be that bad of an actor's director since Anne Baxter gave one of the best performances in the film.
shareI'd have to re-watch, though I just watched last night, but I didn't notice her look at the screen that much. Not unless she was in someone's arms and I think that was because of the style of acting; which is very theatrical. It would be an instinct not to hide her face or in other words 'cheat out' a little bit.
