Was there ever a woman more beautiful?

And by that mean at a given point in time.

How Grace looks in this movie could explain why Ranier wanted to make her a princess.

She wasn't even the most beautiful woman in the movie! I'd take Danielle over her any day!

reply

Well you can have Danielle........could not be happier that leaves me with Grace. Think most would take that deal in a second.

She was 14 carat, icy Blonde beautiful. She had 3 Children by Rainier, Albert, Caroline, and Stephanie, and only Caroline was nearly equal to Her in looks.

reply

Sure, plenty. But of different types. The eye of the beholder, and all that.

I do think Grace is at her physical peak in "To Catch a Thief." And it's probably her best performance, too.

That's your opinion. I have seen hundreds of women far more attractive than this lady Ms Grace Kelly. So what?

I think Grace Kelly is absolutely gorgeous, very classy. A bit slim though. There were many beautiful actresses in all shapes and sizes. Two in particular come to mind which I haven't seen on this thread and which aren't that well known.

Patricia Medina and Yvonne DeCarlo (Criss Cross 1949 en Hotel Sahara 1951).

Firstly, this movie was just lousy. Secondly, as beautiful as she was, I wouldn't consider Grace Kelly in almost any Top Ten List that could be created. Unless we narrow it down to only blonde-haired, blue-eyed fifties starlets.

Many people have already named those who need to be named, but I'll put in my two cents:

In no particular order:

Barbara Stanwyck - "Baby Face," or anytime she wears the flapper look!
Rita Hayworth - "Gilda" or any time
Vivien Leigh - "Gone With the Wind"
Glenda Farrell - "I am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang"
Mae Clarke - "The Lady Killer"
Carole Lombard - Wowzers
Joan Fontaine - "Rebecca"
Joan Crawford - "Grand Hotel," my god, the flapper look!
Sylvia Sidney - "Fury," or anything, really
Veronica Lake - I forgive her for not wearing the peekaboo in "Blue Dahlia," and for wearing that stupid hat in "The Glass Key."

There's Ten women I find are easily more attractive than Grace. A few of them are pre-1950s. So, here's a Fifties Only List:

Marilyn Monroe - "The Asphalt Jungle" always
Eva Marie Saint - "On the Waterfront"
Carroll Baker - "Baby Doll"
Diana Dors - wherever
Audrey Hepburn - "Roman Holiday"
Liz Taylor - "A Place in the Sun"
Tippi Hedren - "The Birds"
Cyd Charise - "Party Girl"
Joan Collins - she's just hot, c'mon
Mary Murphy - "The Wild One," sadly she never became a big star

Well, there are twenty woman which I believe are as beautiful or more beautiful than Grace Kelly; and there are many others I didn't include, like Carolyn Jones, who deserves an honorable mention, as well as Dana Wynter, both of whom were in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."
