Sucks

I have to admit, I am watching it for the first time right now, and I'm not overly impressed. This works as an average 50s musical, but I am not sure how it is such a Christmas tradition. I mean, I see Die Hard as more of a Christmas movie. As far as 50s musicals go, Singin in the Rain, 7 Brides For 7 Brothers, and even Brigadoon were much better than this. The song White Christmas is of course a classic by itself.

Number One at the 1954 box office. Meant something then so..remembered today. Also in 1954, the WW2 veteran nostalgia was very strong. And, I think, Paramount's first movie in the new VistaVision process to battle black and white TV programming screen size.
