Painfully dull, pretentious, self-indulgent garbage

This movie is as entertaining as staring at a wall. I turned it off after 1 hour. Poorly acted and paced, overlong, black and white, subtitled dialogue, amateurish and extremely boring. Awful.

Just like all Kurosawa movies, this is one of the worst movies of all time.

The Magnificent Seven simply sh!ts on this. It's not even close.

All you delusional, insecure, retarded snobs can eat sh!t. Deal with it, morons.

You might have an argument with the "dull" part (its not) but pretentious?
I'm not sure you know what that word means.

If revenge is a dish best served cold, but revenge is sweet then is revenge ice-cream?

Reading posts like this convinces me that it is indeed time to shut down the message boards. What kind of human being considers this to be an acceptable level of discourse?

Movies are about entertainment and what people find entertaining is subjective. Deal with it, loser.

Who are you to decide what should be an acceptable level of discourse? Who made you the authority on movies? Get over yourself, moron.

And this movie is unwatchable garbage, IMO.

reply

I'm watching it right now and this movie isn't doing anything for me either. The emperor has no clothes.

The fault lies not with the film, but with the viewer.

reply

The fault does lie in the film if its 3 hours of jumbled scenes and uninteresting characters.

There are certainly films that don't live up to their vaulted reputation but Seven Samurai is not one of them IMHO but people expecting some modern action flick are going to be sorely disappointed and thus angry at those they perceive as having praised this film.

When you are older and hopefully a bit wiser you might film better than your first superficial viewing of it. If not, who cares?

reply

I love staring at walls.

"subtitled dialogue"

Why don't the characters speak English?

reply

I think it's one of the greatest films ever made.
