Did I miss something, or did they ever explain what happened to the ugly guy who was the troupe's original Scaramouche? I realize they made an announcement saying Andre had decided to stay with their show as the new Scaramouche, but I don't think they mentioned what happened to the other guy. Was he fired? Did he die?

I always felt sorry for the poor dude. Sad for him that he was so disfigured, compared to the good-looking Scaramouche.
