Bill Murray

I've never seen Robert Walker before. I could not get Bill Murray out of my head. Did Murray steal the character of Bruno and make a career out of it?

reply

He looked like a cross between Bill Murray and Robert Mitchum.

reply

I saw this film just today and kept thinking that Bruno looked like a young Bill Murray with good skin!

reply

You nailed it.

know what i'm saying?

No.....Robert Walker looks like Robert Vaughn...... Nothing like Bill Murray.

reply

Robert Walker actually looks like a gene splice between Robert Vaughn and Patrick Duffy.

reply

my wife thought he looked like a mix of Bill Murray and a young John Mahoney (Frasier Crane's dad Martin).

reply

I actually thought he looked like a mix of Murray and Vaughn.

reply

I thought Bill Murray too.

In my opinion there is definitely a resemblance to both Bill Murray and Robert Vaughan (when they were all in their thirties). Some of Bruno's mannerisms in this film remind me of some of the characters portrayed by Murray.

By the way Walker's son Robert Walker Jr was also an actor and was the spitting image of his father.

reply

Whenever I see Robert Walker I always thing of Robert Walker Junior.

He is not a well known actor, but he has been active since the early 1960's. We Trekkies remember him as the 'antagonist' in the title role of the "Charlie X" episode. He was also one of the hippies on the commune in "Easy Rider."

reply

It really is tragic that Robert Sr died so young (Junior was only eleven years old at the time). I could see them acting together as adults.

Of course young Robert's mother was the noted actress Jennifer Jones.

The three of them could easily pass for brothers.

Thanks for the posting. Well done.

I thought of Kevin Spacey

reply

I'd go with a Mitchum/Vaughn/Spacey blend. But, yeah, there's definitely some Bill Murray in there, too. If Murray had ever taken a serious role as psychopathic killer in his younger years, it would have been Bruno Antony all the way.

reply

Definitely saw Murray's sly smile in him.
I also saw Edward Norton's conniving attitude as well.
Fantastic actor, sad that he died too soon.

You people are insane. He looks absolutely nothing like Bill Murray. Robert Vaughn, maybe, but not Bill Murray.

reply

Agreed. Not only he does not look like BM, they don't even act the same. BM isn't intimidating AT ALL.

reply

I think he looks like ... um .... Robert Walker. 🙄
