Was Norton smarter than Ralph?

It seems as if Norton was a different type of thinker than Ralph was. Norton seemed to be a better problem solver and didn't let emotions cloud his judgement like Ralph. But at the same time, Norton is dumb enough to fall for the coin flip trick!

They were each dumb in a particular way, not necessarily smarter than the other.

I agree with you, especially about Ralph letting emotions cloud his judgement.

Despite that, my view is that despite them both being obtuse in their abilities to "connect the dots" at times, I think Ed Norton has marginally more insight than Ralph, It's just that Ralph effectively Bullies Ed into submission.

Yes. In an emergency situation, or if I needed help with anything, I'd choose Ed over Ralph without hesitation. If I needed advice that required clear thinking, I'd ask Alice.
