Most Boring Movie Ever

In my personal opinion, this is the most boring movie I have seen in my life. I had to watch it for a school project and ended up watching the last half in fast-forward because it was so boring. Opinions?

reply

Yep I was bored for awhile. About 45 minutes. The intro was awkward. The movie improved and by the end I gave it a thumbs up.

While They Were Expendable certainly isn't "the most bring movie" ever made, it really tried my patience. The biggest problem is the lack of any overarching plot. First, they've got to do this, then that, some romance, and then this happens, now they wander around in the jungle for a while, etc. The screenwriter should've known better. The inclusion of so much romance is borderline indefensible, killing any momentum the movie might've otherwise had. None of the supporting characters get fleshed out much or make any impression whatsoever and there's not much dramatic conflict.

Now, don't give me any of that "go watch Transformers" crap. I like old movies. Some of the best war movies, released prior to They Were Expendable, in my opinion, include: All Quiet on the Western Front, Sergeant York, The Real Glory, Casablanca, Battleship Potemkin, Duck Soup, The Dawn Patrol (1938), Bataan, Sahara, Gung Ho!, Wings, Desperate Journey, Beau Geste, Let's Go with Pancho Villa, The Lost Patrol (a much better John Ford film than TWE), Days of Glory, and Blockade. They Were Expendable can't hold a candle to any of the war pictures I just listed.
