Haskell's scar

I saw this movie for the first time today and absoluely loved it. I was just wondering one thing, was Haskell really Haskell, or did he too steal Haskell's identity? When Roberts arrives in California they look at his id which is really Haskell's, and they read it aloud and it says that he has brown eyes and hair and "no identifying marks." Wouldn't that giant scar he got as a teenager be an "identifying mark?"
