Best transformation ever...

Does anybody else think that transformation in the hospital bed was totally awesome? Screw CGI! Jack Pierce was a freakin' genius!

reply

Agreed, that remains my favorite of any of the tranformation scenes in the Wolf Man series.

The scene in the hospital is simply outstanding. Talk about a seamless bit of photography there!

The transformations in this film are simply flawless. Beautiful work. I saw a photo online recently taken on-set during a trasformation scene with Lon's head in a metal cage, for lack of a better word, that they would use to align him perfectly between makeup changes.
By the way, I just saw this on AMC this week and the print is pristine. I don't think I've seen a film this old that looked this perfect. Not a speck or scratch to be found. Wow.

You should pick up the Legacy set. Definitely worth the money!

Actually, the transformation scene near the beginning of Abbott and Costell Meet Frankenstein, is really good too.

the hospital bed was a very good transformation and I agree puts CGI to shame...but the best werewolf transformation goes to American Werewolf in London in 1981

reply

Nonsense. The best transformation ever was in Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman
