This was the first movie I ever saw, and it was extremely traumatic...

I saw it in the theatre in the '60s when I was 3 or 4. When the mother was shot, I went into a massive crying fit, as did most of the young kids in the theatre. I was miserable for hours afterwards. My mother was pretty angry with me because I wouldn't stop whining. Eventually she slapped me a couple of times and sent me to bed, vowing never to take me to a movie again - and she didn't.

I couldn't figure out why anyone would find a movie like that entertaining.

The next movie I saw was Live and Let Die in 1973. It was a much better movie, way less traumatic.

You seem like a sad, pathetic, withered, bitter, twisted little soul. Maybe instead of accusing strangers of lying without any proof, you should focus your energies elsewhere.

Maybe you should get a life outside this web site. You might improve your situation enough to actually enjoy it, instead of trying to bring others down to your level.

An animal being killed by a hunter traumatized you?

This is what's wrong with society. These are events that happen everyday in order for humans to survive on this planet and it traumatized you? Are there more important things to get worked up over?

I think the traumatizing element of Bambi (for most people) is a baby losing his mother. Not the actual killing of the deer, they don't even show it.

You are right though. Many Americans especially have a complete disconnect from survival. Many think meat comes from a store and their minds never register beyond that. Or they act like killing animals is so cruel yet they eat them everyday.

ITS A HOLDOVER FROM CHATROOMS 20 YEARS AGO...IT WAS MY "THING"...I LIKED IT,GOT USED TO IT,KEPT IT...CUT TO NOW...I STILL USE THEM MOSTLY OUT OF MY OWN TRADITION...PLUS IT LOOKS COOL.😎

I wouldn't be too sure if I would even have understood what happened when I was only three or four year old.
But yeah, poor Bambi.
And I agree with a previous poster that your mother handled the situation in the worst possible way...

Well, sometimes movies aren`t meant to only be entertaining. Movies are sometimes meant to teach life lessons and to showcase some art. Such is the case of "Bambi".
