Ending (spoilers)

I enjoyed this film, but I found the ending disappointing. Of course I didn't want the creature to toss the kid into the sulfur well, but I received no satisfaction seeing the pompous and arrogant doctor (well played by Rathbone) do this to the creature. It just didn't seem right that the man who was the cause of most of the trouble got a happy ending while poor Igor and the creature ended up dead.

Yes poor Ygor, the MURDERER!

Well, Wolf's intentions were noble. It was Ygor who was the villain of this piece, and got his comeuppance in the end. The monster was little more than Ygor's puppet in this movie, not showing much emotion until after Ygor's death. We've all wished for a happier ending for the monster since the first film, but it was pretty obvious by this point, that the monster and the world simply don't understand each other.

Thank you for putting a spoiler alert in the heading. I wish others would do the same

This poster is from imdb but I wonder if he was aware of the sequel Ghost of Frankenstein.
