Probably the handiwork of the great Preston Sturges!

These old movies are really great ... long before demographics
and product placements, and playing popular music to sell
soundtracks and all the other things they insert into movies
from their hit formula, they made movies to hold a nation
together by an original American vision.

I don't see any of that today in movies or TV ... all I see is
money grubbing.
