“It came to my attention before the internet got a hold of me,” he tells EW. “But my pie-in-the-sky ambition is definitely to play Superman. I would love to see somebody do an upbeat, throwback [take on Superman]. I love the Henry Cavill dark and gritty take, but I would love to see the next one be very bright and optimistic.”
As mentioned before, I'd wish if they gave Cavill another chance. He's young enough for a new trilogy if they began right away. I just can't believe WB squandered that opportunity.

Thing is a movie can't be made around an actor, they shouldn't just keep Cavill just to please his fans, I think that could fall into massive issues like development hell or familiarity breeds contempt.
Yeah I understand that. If they feel as if they need to move on, it is what it is. But don't wait around too long, that's all. Recast him with someone else and try at it again. It's not the character. People still want to see Superman.

For Cavill to continue playing Superman organically you need a film made right now otherwise a new movie wouldn't be a straight continuation. Man Of Steel 2 needed to be around 2015 instead of BVS to be a proper sequel. Cavill would be 40 in 2023 and Amy Adams is nearing 50 in a few years.
Playing a role like Superman is an extensive part of your life, it's ten years out of a twenty year work life, so you just spent ten percent of your work life on three productions.
Problem nowadays if you don't make an instant impression they scrap it all and start over again, so there's no time anymore for your take to grow and evolve, it means second chances are at a disadvantage. Similar Problem with TV shows if you don't have high enough ratings in the first ten episodes they give you the axe.
Cavill is too busy with The Witcher, Adams is too old to be Lois Lane, due to a long period of inactivity a new movie would need a new actor.
