Yes, didn't have any symptoms but got tested... How many people with some symptoms can't get a test and this turd gets one simply because he is a politician.

reply

Or maybe you could be a decent human being and just hope that he gets better along with the thousands of other people who have it.

reply

nah, fuck him

reply

Why? The politicians are the one most responsible for the mess in the first place. They could have shut down all the airports when the virus first popped up and we would have been able to fight it the way South Korea did. Instead these blundering fools did nothing until it was too late and now they get special treatment... excuse me but I don't give a shit if these fuckers that caused this mess live or die. Innocent people are suffering and you want sympathy for the devil.

Well you've proven yourself to be a decent human being now haven't ya?

reply

Calling you out on your hate makes me a decent human being. I'm not the one wishing deadly viruses on people while people are currently dying from it. (Also FYI: Reporting posts is for cowards).

South Korea has 15% of our population and 25% of our confirmed coronavirus cases. Tell me again about how that's better than what we're going through?

reply

You might want to refresh whatever source you are using. SK has 2.6% of the confirmed cases, 8,897 of over 336,000 cases.... the US has 32,783 cases which is about 9% of the total cases... And even worse, SK is near fanatical about testing where if a person in a house is positive they test everyone in the home... the US on the other had doesn't seem to test the common man unless he is gasping his last breath in an ER room or some braindead celebrity or politician. Some places like LA don't even bother testing anymore... So spare me the we are better off than SK right now... we are not. We are far behind where many Asian countries are right now.

reply

South Korea also has a much smaller population in total. More of the total population of South Korea has been confirmed with the disease than that of the United States, by percent of the population. That's what I said in my original post.

No you said, "South Korea has 15% of our population and 25% of our confirmed coronavirus cases." Which is exactly what I responded to. But if you want to look at percentage of the population infected then let's do that.. The only thing is we can't look at the total infected because in the US they don't test everyone... so the best proxy is to use the number of people in critical condition with the virus or that are dead from it because you can safely assume that the mortality rate is probably close in all countries and only gets really skewed when a country has hospitals collapse which didn't happen in either country yet. South Korea has 51 million people and 59 in ICU and 111 dead... So 170 / 51 million is .000333% compared to the US that has 327 million people and 1040 in ICU and 512 dead.... so 1552 / 327 million is .000475%.... The numbers don't lie. SK has been more successful in how they dealt with it... and those number will only get worse as the US hasn't peaked yet but SK has. So go pretend that everything is better here but it isn't.

If you can't understand how "South Korea has 15% of our population and 25% of our confirmed coronavirus cases" plays into the same exact statistics in my cited source then there is no helping you.

BTW; using the numbers you did, South Korea still has a higher mortality rate per capita than the US. (0.21 per 100k vs 0.156)

Thanks for the insight.

Your ignorance knows no bounds does it. My numbers made sense because they didn't get tainted with the fact that one country was past the peak and the other wasn't. I'm sure the politicians in office will love a rube like you that believes they did all they could to save Americans.

reply

LOL. Why not just resort to more blatant ad hominem too? I've never said a single thing about politics. You've put all of that there. You're plainly grabbing for straws. I've stuck to citable facts and mathematics. You're the ignorant one here.

Have a nice day.

They didn’t do “nothing”. They made sure to sell their stocks. :-)

I'm sorry but this guy is an asshole. And yes I hope he recovers but if he got tested there must've been a reasonable belief he was at risk. So what possible justification is there for this guy going to a senate luncheon, the gym and pool (and god knows where else) while still waiting on results? He's a doctor for Christ's sake, how could he be that irresponsible? If this was a democrat I would be saying the same exact thing...these people are calling for us to employ social distancing and someone in a leadership position does that? Everyone he was in contact with over that 5-7 day period between testing and results should be self-quarantined right now. This story has pissed me off beyond belief.

reply

It is a given that the politicians of both parties see themselves as above the laws and rules they throw down to the people. I only hope the voters in his state remember what an asshat he was... but I'm not counting on it.
