Mane is a big loss.
But there's also some burn-out from last season when they played every game available to them and came as close as anyone could do a Quadruple without actually lifting four trophies. That's got to have an impact mentally and physically.
Furthermore, it's an ageing squad now and this may just be that one season too many for a few of these players. More should have been done to refresh the playing staff. I still think they'll be fine by the end of the season though.
It makes you realize how important Mane was. But it's true that they were burned-out the end of the season. They didn't score a single goal in 3 finals.
shareI was sad to see him go. But I think we all got a little distracted from quite how important he was by shiny new toy Nunez. But, yeah, big loss. It just hasn't gelled -- or at least not consistently -- so far this season. They could do with buying a midfielder in January too, but I suspect they're going to wait until the summer to try to get Bellingham... who'll probably end up in Madrid anyway.
