That was a rumor started by Meghan, who got a stupid, red-haired, trouble-making reporter named Giles Coren to spread that lie a few years ago. There was a state dinner being held before Megsy married Harry, and she was pissed that she wasn't allowed to go, and her jealous ass got really mad when Harry praised Rose Hanbury, who was sitting right next to him during that state dinner. She was also angry that William was completely ignoring all her attempts to flirt with him and get him to notice her (she wanted soooo badly for him to sleep with her).

So a month after Meghan announces her pregnancy (supposedly with Archie at the time) she and Harry were in Amsterdam, attending a celebration of opening a new Soho House there. While she and him were guzzling wine like a pair of fish (please take note of that), she overhears the reporter gossiping about Rose Hanbury and William, claiming "everybody knows it," even though he's the only guy who ever talked about it in all of Europe, and Meghan decided to use it as revenge against William, and encouraged Giles to tweet it out, even though there was no evidence to support William ever having an affair with Rose. She did it all to sow discord and to make William and Kate's marriage look bad, in a crappy attempt at breaking them up.

Remember, Meghan would love nothing better than to be Queen, and if she can't have that, revenge is the next-best thing.

By the way, she lost the war with the Royals a long time ago, particularly when Queen Elizabeth threw her ass out of England and forced her and "Haz" to lie to the public about "stepping down from their duties" to pursue fame and fortune in America. It's one of many reasons Megsy is bitter, because she played that and the Hollywood game, and lost on both accounts, but her mental illness will not let her admit to it, ever.
