When did supporting players become the stars?

All these unattractive chubby girls end up producing shows starring themselves, like Kaling or Dunham. Who is the audience for these losers? Don't they know they're, at best, the ugly girl next door -- the supporting player?

Obviously they have an audience for the work they put out, or nobody would be watching it. Second, they are grown-a** women, not "girls". And the reality is, the average women looks more like them than the pretty model types with too much damn plastic surgery with faces looking messed-up as hell. Their audiences are clearly women who like watching their shows who find the women in them more realistic and relatable. Funny how men who aren't attractive and are chubby are always allowed to be in the starring role in whatever movies or TV shows they write, direct and produce for themselves---because that's always been the norm. And plenty of plain-looking men who are supporting players wind up being the stars of their own shows or films---why the hell can't women? Also, they are plenty of attractive fat women----being fat does not automatically make one unattractive, and being skinny alone does not automatically make one attractive. Also, what is "attractive" or "ugly" is pretty damn subjective, since the standards for who or what is attractive change every couple of years. And looks really have nothing to do with talent----you either got it or you don't, period.

Let's face it----the movie biz is run by men who have always decided who is attractive enough to be in films and TV shows and who isn't. It's way the hell past time for women who aren't the stereotypical attractive type of women to be front and center in their own stories that they have written for themselves. If you don't like their shows, don't watch them then. Nobody's making your complaining behind watch them anyway.
