Sanders nabs top spot in new Dems poll as Pete Buttigieg gains momentum

The poll, which was conducted by Emerson Polling, puts Sanders atop the already crowded Democratic field with 29 percent, followed by Biden – who has yet to declare his candidacy -- with 24 percent and a surging South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg rounding off the top three with nine percent. O’Rourke and Harris garnered eight percent, while Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., pulled in seven percent.

All it means is that the younger clown's car got ahead of the crusty old clown's car. Nothing to see there.

I'd absolutely love to see Bernie become President, but I don't want him to be nominated unless he has a real chance of winning.

Ultimately, if the only viable choice comes down to a centrist neoliberal corporate-pandering Clinton/Obama clone and Trump, I'll always pick the former, which is to say, I'll support whoever the DNC candidate is, left-wing or, if needs be, centrist. But whoever they are, they have to be able to guarantee a win against Trump. And if they can't, they better be prepared for a whole lot of shit from the likes of me, because we've only got one shot at this.

Emerson is an outlier. Tuesday polls have Biden ahead by 7&6. Everyone else less than 9%.
