shareUnfortunately, it gets played like some kind of woke card in a game with a number of people. It worked better a half century ago or more when Jews were denied social status in many Western nations. But by the 1980's Jews "arrived" in these same nations. We all have more respect for a person that does not look at their religion as a part time job at best. That they attend services for their respective religions quite frequently and put it ahead of other social objectives that they might have. That they adhere to at least most of the social principles of their respective faiths.

when a guy say "im a christian/not christian" nobody say that christianity is an ethnicity. same with islam

It depends on how literal a person wants to interpret the Old Testament. If your belief is that God created Man and the beginning was Adam then that could be considered the basis for ethnicity. But then you need to consider how the women who came after Eve came to be. Like I said some people take every aspect of the Old Testament literally including the Book of Genesis and other religious scholars do not. Some consider early books such as Genesis as merely getting people up to speed including an explained ancestory to the events which matter more such as Moses who was written about as an expression of faith. That God would eventually bring his children out of the bondage in Egypt due to the faith of Moses and the Israelites.
