Fall from grace
From alpha male and American hero in 1976 to this in 2019. No celebrity has fallen harder.

shareBizarre story on every level.
Ending up with those fake big assed pouts was bad enough
Can you imagine Michael Jordan as a cross dresser? Bruce was the Michael Jordan of the decathlon. It's a shame how he ended up. His legacy has been disgraced.
shareRubbish. No one would even know who Bruce Jenner is today if not for:
1. Keeping Up with The Kuntashians
2. The fact that he is transgender
I'd never heard about him a few years ago, but now I know he once won a Gold Medal at the Olympics in the 70s. ONE Gold Medal. What an incomparable achievement.
Oh and I also discovered that he appeared in that Village People movie 'Can't Stop The Music' in the 80's, presumably because that was the best way to safeguard the sanctity of his sporting legacy back then. Then, more recently, it was to play stooge to his brood of vacuous and self-important daughters on reality TV, because there's no better way to save your legacy from being disgraced than by appearing on one of the most inane shows of the century so far.
But no, you're right, a bit of lipstick ruins it all.
He was on the cover of magazines and cereal boxes and all over tv after his Olympic success you worthless millennial. You just weren't there to see it. He was everywhere. He was huge. A great athlete. A true hero. If all he was known for was that reality show, no one would care about what he did to himself. This is a former world class athlete now reduced to a circus freak and that is a tragedy.
shareHere we have a video (2:17:40) of BRUCE from 1979. Tall, handsome, good looking and athletic. A man's man. Now reduced to what he is now. He was everywhere during this time. But according to some ignorant souls, he is "Only known from KUWTK." (◔_◔)

Meh, maybe it's because I'm Australian. I'm guessing if I said the names Cathy Freeman, Ian Thorpe, Dawn Fraser or Shirley Strickland, many Americans wouldn't consider those household names either.
It's great if his achievements are well regarded and celebrated, I don't mean to denigrate that. That said, I don't generally think of sports people as "heroes" and winning an olympic gold medal means as much to me as someone winning an Emmy or an Oscar. Even if I did revere them like you think I should, the fact that one decides to transition wouldn't negate any admiration I had for them. I get that there's a large number of people out there that would prefer that transgender people just didn't exist, the comments here make that abundantly clear, but if it comes down to someone hiding their truth self or having the bravery to live their life truthfully regardless of the bile that gets spewed their way, I know which option I find more admirable.
And I may be out of mind atomicgirl, but I'm not bitter and nasty and negative to the point of nausea. You seem to have a lot of hate for a lot of things, so be it, I'm happy not to judge you if you can offer me the same courtesy.

You took that quote completely out of context it was in response to someone having a meltdown over Bruce Jenner's legacy being ruined now he's transitioned. I didn't suggest he should now be taken seriously. My point, if I must make it again, was that I don't think his legacy is ruined because I don't see someone going through gender identity issues as something that is damaging to one's past achievements. Frankly, I just really don't care what Jenner does and I'm at a loss to understand why it upsets people like yourself so much.
I don't know enough about Jenner (obviously) to say "that his coming out as a "transgender" comes from a sincere, heartfelt place, a thing he's been struggling with for decades" (but nice try putting those words in my mouth) but I do know people who have been through exactly that and so I assume it would be the same for him. But really I don't know. Or care, frankly.
I'll leave you guys to trash trans people some more, because I guess that makes you feel a little better about yourselves. Bravo.
