This guy is ALWAYS killing animals in his movies, is this like a fetiche or something?
Or it's a cheap way to cause impact on the viewer?

After rewatching GOTG 1 & 2 plus TSS then watching GOTG 3, all within the past week. I made a mental note of James Gunns M.O.
