Does Jon want us to think he's tough?

He's played a boxer in Rocky Marciona, an MMA fighter on Friends, a boxer in Made, another MMA fighter in Four Christmases and played Iron Man's bodyguard. That's an odd thing for a guy that's never had an awesome physique. Not knocking his body, but he's never been ripped like Micky Rourke, who plays a tough guy a lot too.

He does look realistically strong, you don't have to be shredded to be a good fighter.

reply

I can't really think of any successful overweight mma fighters.

reply

He wasn't successful in Friends. And Happy is never seen in his prime.

Mark hunt. Roy nelson and tank Abbott are three off the top of my head.

reply

Mark and Roy are legit, but Hank was just a spectacle with a crappy record at the end of the day. So I guess there are a couple.

reply

To be fair tank came from the old tournament days when you had to fight multiple times a night, which would skew his w-l record.

reply

Those were the best. I remember Royce Gracie wanting to fight in a final match despite having a broken arm. They didn't let him. That dude was tough.

reply

He died of a heart attack about thirty five years ago.

reply

ummmmmm....what?

reply

I’d never stopped to think that, but now that you lay it out it does seem like a rather large number of ‘tough guy’ characters. You could be onto something, maybe he was once a promising wrestler or boxer until an injury put an end to his fighting career.

reply

He's been acting from pretty young, but maybe he did or wanted to when he was young.
