There's a whole new slew of articles and websites saying how fans want him to be the next Bond. He has repeatedly said he does not want to portray the role and will not pursue it.
Isn't it just as bad for fans to push an actor towards something he has no interest in as tell them they cannot play a role?

1 - he's a bit old to take on the role, unless they wanted to do "Old Man Bond" ala Logan, for like a one-off movie or two films, or something.
2 - in my opinion, the fact that the internet pushes him so hard makes his casting a problem. If they cast Elba as Bond now, it would feel like it was just for the internet, and that would belie a real problem at the creative level. These are not artists trying to make the best movie they can, they're people catering and pandering to the random whims of a digital fog. It's committee-built executive nonsense.
