Favourite John Williams Soundtrack and Favourite Soundtrack of all time!

My favourite Williams OST has gotta be The Patriot, which is also my favourite OST of all time. Should have gotten an Oscar for that.

How has he not earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame but people like Orlando Bloom or Kaley Cuoco have? I guess that is another thread topic.

Towering Inferno main theme, it's *beep* EPIC!

Soundtrack. Look at the cast!

Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back is probably my favourite Wiliams' soundtrack. Some really outstanding tracks which propelled the movie upwards, like the iconic The Imperial March, The Asteroid Field, Yoda's Theme, Han Solo and the Princess, etc.

I'm a huge fan of Williams' work on The Patriot. I feel it is a seriously underrated soundtrack, that is, as far as a Williams' soundtrack is concerned.

Jurassic Park, he should have done JW.

Return of the Jedi.

It contains all the great themes of the original trilogy (including the Main Title, the Force Theme, the Imperial March,...) as well as adding some new ones.

My favorite piece of film music appears during the battle Darth Vader vs. Luke Skywalker right after Vader finds out that he has a daughter and is threatening to turn her to the Dark Side if Luke won't.

I also love the new "Victory Celebration" which replaced the "Ewok Celebration" in the special edition version of the film.

There have been many iconic scores by John Williams, but I do agree with Corky 666, The Towering Inferno is the best, the opening scene of the chopper flying along the Californian coast then over the forest and through the fog towards the Golden Gate Bridge is just pure magic. The other bit when Steve McQueen is being taken up in the chopper up to the roof to plant the charges and there is a scene from the chopper looking back below to the burning building and the Williams score kicks in gives me goose bumps every time I see it.

Not to mention The Battle Of Hoth. Empire is a masterwork from start to finish; every piece of music on that soundtrack is distinctive and interesting.
