shareI can see this as the impetus to changing the source material so it matches Netflix's woke outlook.
shareI can't stand Netflix. The absolute corporate entitlement of them demanding the original works are changed. If they had a problem with it, they shouldn't have bought the rights.
Any *true* leftist should tell this GREEDY corporation to shove their woke BS up their ass. Unfortunately, a lot of 'woke' people aren't actually left-wing. They're more interested in preserving and gaming the capitalist system for their own personal benefit.
They're certainly not the old-style leftists I remember. Maybe that's why they prefer to call themselves "progressives." 🤷🏼♀️
shareI did a few online personality tests yesterday, including a 4 axes test, and what was interesting was that the political axis, which showed that I was very left-wing (i.e. 93%), and the lifestyle axis, which showed I was *moderately* progressive (i.e. 66%), were separate, the implication being that 'left-wing' and 'woke' are two very different things. I wonder if there are any very right-wing 'wokesters'. Possibly people who believe in low taxes, privatisation, a large wealth gap, and low public spending, just as long as POC, women and members of the LGBTQ+ community are exempt from the implications of the latter, perhaps. 🤷♂️ I can also see a lot of predominantly white corporatists subscribing to a 'woke agenda' because they think they can profit from it. Diversity is clearly the future, so best to get on the 'right side' early on.
