Downhill since sunshine

IMO. Trainspotting, shallow grave, 28 days later, and sunshine were brilliant, but recently this guy is cranking out glossy, kind of safe stuff. 127 hours later was a bit dull, slumdog I found massively overrated, and having just seen trance, It came off to me like a poor mans inception. That is all.

Ill bet the movie you directed is way better huh? Jag off.

Not really. Loved Sunshine, Slumdog, 127 Hours, and Trance. You probably think slumdog is overrated because if lots of people like something, it's automatically overrated, which is moronic. Just stop watching movies

reply

And just because someone thinks something you loved is overrated, doesn't mean it isn't.

Why can't people just admit they loved an overrated movie? I have no problem I admitting love for any film I love, whether it's high art or a shitty B.

I mostly agree with you, especially on Slumdog being massively overrated, I will take The Beach over it any day...I loved 127 hours, though felt it was missing something, and I haven't seen Trance yet. So yeah, his movies up till and including Sunshine were great, but starting with Slumdog he started to lose some of his mojo, which was making him unique... I feel like something similar happened to Fincher with that mess of a film of Benjamin Button, but he already redeemed himself for me with Social Network. So I'm hoping for Danny Boyle's comeback to form soon too.

no, but you are, obviously, lol

He was hardly uphill prior to Sunshine. A Life Less Ordinary, The Beach, Strumpet, Vacuuming Completely Nude in Paradise and Alien Love Triangle aren't just among his worst films, they're some of the worst films of the last 20 years.

reply

Haha, ridiculous.. based on what? Your opinion? I'll give you that but the mass appeal and majority of critics indicate otherwise. Its actually safer to say that your opinion is an exception that's better off overlooked.

I don't think I would agree with that, I think Steve Jobs is up there with his greatest work, T2 is a great film but just overshadowed by it's game changing and era defining first film. Trance is passable but is shot beautifully. 127 Hours is fantastic I thought and Slumdog is overrated but at least Boyle won his Oscars and that film is the closet to a Oscar bait type film he ever get to making. I think Steve Jobs, T2 and 127 Hours are up there with his best work imo.
