Top five performances

What are your favourite performances by Anne Bancroft? Personally I prefer her work up to and including her iconic Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate - always an actress with a tendency towards broad strokes, later in her career she tipped over into full-on hamminess at times, although usually entertaining to watch. My favourite Bancroft moment may be the scene where she and John Hurt read Romeo & Juliet in The Elephant Man (1980), but here are my favourite Bancroft performances.

1. The Pumpkin Eater
2. The Miracle Worker
3. The Graduate
4. 84 Charing Cross Road
5. 'night, Mother

The Pumpkin Eater (1964)
The Graduate (1967)
The Miracle Worker (1962)
The Turning Point (1977)
Agnes of God (1985)

As an aside, I can't believe yours is the first post here.

Yes... I'm looking through the boards for various actors and it's genuinely surprising some of those who don't have any posts.

I only remember her from the Graduate and The Miracle Worker, but she was pretty brilliant in both.
