Then again, it was the 90s and getting the "ankle tattoo" was the "in" thing for chicks to do back then... wonder how many of them feel ridiculous now...
I find them trashy and offensive. So do many others in the world. Why limit your options in life with such a pointless, painful fad? Why subject others that dislike them to having to look at them? Why not get them in a non-visible area?
It's an attention-seeking gimmick, much like dying your hair pink. It does nothing to enhance ones persona or station in life. People that get tattoos clearly have some deep-seeded issues.
Unless the tattoo-ee is a Navy or Marine war veteran, tatoos look trashy and nasty. I suppose at one time young women thought having tattoos made them appear special. Now that they have become commonplace, any woman under forty who doesn't have any tattoos is distinctive.
