reply

What do you think Paul did vs Jeffrey? to my understanding, they were very different activities.

reply

Child pornography in his home.

reply

Well, his lawyers argued it was "art". Evidently they were old, nonsexual images of nude minors. Not cool, and I don't believe Paul had them for art appreciation, but they did reduce charges to possession of obscene materials. Jeffrey had a underage boy get naked so he could personally take pictures. While I certainly disagree with their actions, I can see how what Jeffrey did is perceived as worse.

reply

Ah, OK. I didn't realize Jones was making it himself. That does take it to another level.

Paul Reubens got caught masturbating in an adult theatre; Jeffery Jones solicited a 14 y/o for a selfie nude picture.

reply

Paul Reubens also was caught with child pornography.

Maybe he just had a better lawyer than Jones. He argued it was artistic in nature and the prosecutor decided not to charge him, I believe.

He wasn't convicted like Jones, but he never denied owning it.

You're right. From Wikipedia:

In November 2002, while filming David LaChapelle's video for Elton John's "This Train Don't Stop There Anymore", Reubens learned that police were at his home with a search warrant. Police were acting on a tip from a witness in the pornography case against actor Jeffrey Jones,[99] finding among over 70,000 items of kitsch memorabilia, two grainy videotapes, and dozens of photographs that the city attorney's office characterized as a collection of "child pornography."[2] Kelly Bush, Reubens's personal representative at the time, said the description of the items was inaccurate and stated the objects were "Rob Lowe's sex videotape", and a few 30- to 100-year-old kitsch collectible images."

I guess it does help to have a good attorney.
