So a nose job actually stunted her career?

She lost her 'uniqueness' or something like that?

If so, I find that really petty of movie audiences to reject an actor just because they made some minor cosmetic change.

Did they feel 'betrayed' by average-looking people who felt they no longer had 'one of their own' to follow in movies?

I don't think it was the lost of 'uniqueness' that stunted her career, but the lost of 'recognition'. Audience are drawn to movies featuring actors/actress they know and like. It's a connection they have with the actor/actress.

Jennifer's nose job made her face become just another stranger's face. Audience are not drawn to her any more than they are drawn to a newcomer. The connection was lost.

Blame movie studios that would hire her not the viewing public. She lost out on roles b/c they thought she was unrecognizable and it would be a distraction.

People use to reject insecure people. Surgery kind of gives it away...

This wasn't Renee Zellwegger-level surgery. She literally looked like a completely different (and unrecognizable) person; her own mother probably could've passed her on the street. Grey even admitted that she went from being famous to anonymous with the surgery because no one recognized her. She was just another actress.

Think of her old nose as the equivalent of Julia Roberts' lips or Tina Turner's legs.

Huh? I'm sorry but a nose job by its self wouldn't make someone unrecognizable. Other work would have to of been performed to make someone completely "unrecognizable."

Look at comparison photos. She looks TOTALLY different.

Take Mark Hamil for example. It always irked me how different he looked in TESB compared to Episode IV. He broke his nose in a bad car crash in between the two. I didn't believe the story that all he broke was his nose because of how drastic the change was but alas, noses are literally a central facial feature that have major influence on looks.
