I like Leticia's explanations.

On Oscar Inclusion:
"He's not railing against inclusion. It's the fact that with this new Academy standard, no film can even be considered for an Oscar unless there is a regimented diversification of the cast. That means every movie, no matter the storyline, period or location, must include a set number of minority actors (black, hispanic, asian, lgbtq, disabled, etc) in prominent roles to be worthy of awards. That is the antithesis of the artistic spirit. It's great for jobs behind the scenes, but to limit casting choices for directors in such a strict manner is sacrificing art for pandering. Make it a goal where it's possible, fine, but not a rigid requirement."

I mean, all you have to do is watch TROPIC THUNDER with RDJ playing a black man and while that might have gone over back then, it wouldn't in 2023
