If they kept Liv Tyler, then it becomes a little weird that she’s romantically involved with Mark Ruffalo when last we saw her love for Edward Norton. It kind of pulls you out of the immersion.

If they got a new actress, it further adds to the rift in people’s minds that the two Hulks are not the same, and that’s not what they wanted. That absolutely runs counter to the idea of the MCU.

2. I think it’s bad that they removed Betty Ross from the MCU because she has pretty much always been the one who could always calm Hulk. She could propel him to higher heights or bring him back down to Earth. Without her, they needed to find some other person for Hulk to truly care about, and since they didn’t want to make Bruce gay for some reason (probably because comic fans turn into the worst people on the planet when their source material gets changed too much) they were stuck with the only woman they had him in contact with in their movie, Natasha Romanoff. This resulted in one of the worst forced romances I’ve ever seen in a movie and pissed me off. It was so horribly unbelievable that it brought the entire Age of Ultron movie down several notches as far as I’m concerned.
