His upcoming novel, "Billy Summers"

Looks like another one of his noir crime thrillers rather than a horror.

"Billy Summers is a man in a room with a gun. He’s a killer for hire and the best in the business. But he’ll do the job only if the target is a truly bad guy. And now Billy wants out. But first there is one last hit. Billy is among the best snipers in the world, a decorated Iraq war vet, a Houdini when it comes to vanishing after the job is done. So what could possibly go wrong?"

Given King's politicizing of late, who wants to bet that Billy's target is a thinly disguised Trump pastiche?

I visualised Roger Klerke as George Soros.

I have just finished the book (my first one of Stephen King). I always thought he "only " writes horror novels but this one reminds me a little bit the books of John Grisham.
The first half of the book is just OK, in the moment when Billy meets Alice the novel improved a lot.
