Insanely Overrated as an Actor
People try and lump Keitel with greats like De Niro, Pacino and Nicholson but he's not even in the same league. He's just ok. He doesn't have the gravitas of the 3 aforementioned actors.
shareI don’t think anyone considers Keitel a ‘great’, he’s kinda like Dennis Hopper - a good actor who emerged in the 70’s alongside the Pacino-DeNiro-Hoffman-Hackman batch but is neither as talented nor as famous as those guys.
He’s really just a dependable character actor who has been around forever and appears in several classics. An enviable for career for any actor.
He also had a huge hand in getting Reservoir Dogs made and launching Tarantino, so max respect.
